The following parish activities will NOT be offered this weekend due to the winter weather: Coffee and Donuts following 8:30 Mass, Sunday Social following the 11:00 Mass, 9:45 Rosary, Faith Formation for Children and Teens (including Nursery, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Confirmation Class, and High School Youth Study.)

Our parish office will be closed on Friday, January 10th due to the winter weather. If you have a medical emergency requiring a priest, please call 901-527-8282 and press 9. Confessions will be celebrated at 11:30 and Mass at 12:05 in the St. Martin de Porres Shrine Chapel as usual. Our Dominican friars live on site and are happy to celebrate Mass every day. However, please do not attempt to drive or walk to Mass if it is not safe for you to do so.

Due to the winter weather, the Reaching Higher: Our Journey in Faith Men’s Catholic Conference has been postponed for this weekend. A new date for the conference will be planned and communicated in the near future. Those that pre-registered, please watch for direct communications that will address most questions.

All regular faith formation for children and teens is scheduled to resume this Sunday, Jan. 12. This includes all atrium sessions, Confirmation class, and the nursery. In case of winter weather, we will update accordingly by Saturday afternoon.

Many of our infirmed and homebound parishioners greatly desire a connection with our parish and to be remembered when we gather for worship. We need volunteers with gifts of service to help us minister to our parishioners who are not able to join us on Sunday. You would do so by joining them weekly in prayer and by bringing them the presence of the Lord in the Eucharist. 2-Part Eucharistic Minister Training offered on Sundays, Dec. 8 and 15 at 9:45. Tuesdays in December (Dec. 3, 10, 17) Join other women as we go through an Advent study from Blessed Is She about being made for Hope. Print and digital copies are available on the Blessed is She website. You may choose to meet on Tuesday afternoons from 12:45 -1:45pm in the Parish Hall or on Tuesdays evenings in the home of Heather McGuire in East Memphis from 8-9pm. The Christmas Eve Family Mass will be Tuesday, December 24 at 5:00 p.m. and there are many ways for children and teens to be involved at our Family Mass! Please see below for details and sign up information.

We are excited that our Nursery Toddler Atrium is blessed with children! Unfortunately, we do not always have room for all of our parish toddlers during the atrium session hour. In order to make this time more comfortable for parents with very small children, we have set up a baby/toddler family area in the corner of the Parish Hall. St. Peter Christmas Choir will sing on Christmas Eve: Lessons and Carols at 10:30 PM and Mass at 11 PM. All singers ages 14+ welcome! Rehearsals on Wednesdays evenings 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Nov. 13, 20, Dec. 4, 11, 18. (Okay if you cannot attend all rehearsals, but please plan to attend at least 3) For more information or to sign up, please contact Jane at [email protected] by Nov. 10.

The Faith Formation Team is exploring a possible adult Bible study and/or atrium session for young children (ages 1+) on a weekday morning. If you , your child, or grandchild might be interested, please contact Christina at [email protected].

On Sunday, October 27, all children are invited to dress in costume of their favorite saint. Children will receive a special blessing during Mass, and will have a chance to share about their saint during atrium sessions and/or Children's Liturgy of the Word.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, our 11 a.m. Mass will be a special "Family Mass" with our children and teens invited to serve in liturgical ministries! We are looking for the following: Ushers and Lectors (Teens in Grades 7-12), Gift Bearers (1 family any age), Children's Choir (Children ages 3 - 11) If your son or daughter or family would like to serve in one of these ministries, please contact Christina at [email protected] or Heather at [email protected].

Fall Faith Formation for children and teens began last month, but it's not too late to sign up. Register at the links below. Please note: First Communion and Confirmation in the Diocese of Memphis requires two years of preparation. The Catholic Charities Hunger Relief Program is in critical need for canned tuna and chicken. 4.5 ounce easy open pouches or pop-top style cans. Please bring your donations and place in the box in the back of the church. Thank you!

If you are coming to St. Peter during the week for Daily Mass or another parish event, you may park in the parking lot across the street for free with your St. Peter Parking Sign or Decal.
