OUTREACH GOAL STATEMENT:
Encounter the face of Jesus as we touch the lives of those in need in the Memphis community.
One objective of the St. Peter Strategic Plan is to develop an education program for the parish that will raise awareness of Catholic and Inter-religious Social Teachings.
On the second Sunday of each month a representative of a local group will make a presentation for parishioners of St. Peter and patrons of the St. Martin National Shrine and Institute about the needs of the greater Memphis community.
The subject of the next of these presentations is Constance Abbey, a Downtown neighborhood street ministry founded in 2013, and which, like St. Peter Church, is located in the heart of the largest homeless population in Memphis. It is a religious community named in memory of Sister Constance (CSM) who died a martyr during the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1878.
Roger Wolcott, Co-Founder, will be our guest speaker.
